Technology & Commercialization

About

The Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) serves the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, OARDC, Ohio State Extension, and the rest of the Buckeye community by providing the necessary protections and incentives to encourage both the discovery and the development of new knowledge, its transfer for the public benefit, and its use for economic development.

The TCO has Licensing Managers specifically dedicated to advancing the innovations created at the College of Food Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The Licensing Managers promote and transfer the core capabilities and resulting technologies from the college’s departments and centers. Collaborating with other industry-facing initiatives and entities existing within CFAES for the end goal of enhancing industry engagement and activity is a top priority for the TCO.

TCO representatives aid faculty, staff, and students in areas surrounding innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship. Assistance and consultation is available even prior to the Invention Disclosure submission stage all the way through the commercialization process, into startup services. The TCO also provides support and access to funding for pre- and post-licensed technologies as well as existing startups.

For easy access to commercialization resources, TCO representatives have monthly open standing appointments on both the Columbus and Wooster campuses. For more information about technology commercialization or view appointment hours in Wooster or Columbus please reference tco.osu.edu.
