Molecular & Cellular Imaging Center (MCIC)

What We Do

The Molecular & Cellular Imaging Center is a core laboratory  at the Ohio  Agricultural  Research and Development Center (OARDC) in the College of Food Agricultural Environmental Sciences (CFAES). We support research by housing shared technologies and providing services in the areas of:

  • microscopy (light, confocal, transmission and scanning electron microscopy)
  • genomics (capillary sequencing, Illumina sequencing and genotyping) and
  • bioinformatics.

We provide fee based services, train students and users in technologies we house at the center and in equipment usage and we are also available for collaborative research. Our workshops highlight our technologies, protocols and tools. The MCIC is also available to faculty for teaching laboratory classes.
