Mohammed "Masud" joined us in February 2007 from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Joydeppur, Bangladesh. He is enrolled in a sandwich PhD degree program between The Ohio State University and BSMRAU. Masud is working jointly with Dr. Sally Miller and Dr. David Francis (Horticultural and Crop Sciences) on evaluating different genotypes of tomato rootstocks for resistance against Phytopthora aphanadermatum and Clavibacter michiganenesis supsp. michiganenesis. He is also using marker assisted selection to identify resitsance genes in tomato Phytopthora sp. and spotted wilt virus.

2007
Biljana Kuzmanovska, recipient of the Norman Borlaug Scholarship, from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in the republic of Macedonia visited the lab in October to learn about organic vegetable production and disease management in high tunnels.
2005
Carol Amper, Ph.D. student and Ford Foundation Scholar, from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños visited the lab in August to learn about field diagnositics.
Tyler Harp, Ph.D. student, from the University of Florida visited the lab in July to learn molecular techniques to assist him in characterizing and identifying isolates of Colletotrichum spp. from pepper.
2004
Dr. Africano Tushemereirwe from the National Banana Research Programme (Kampala, Uganda) and Geoffrey Tusiime from Makerere University (Kampala, Uganda) visited the lab to learn classical and molecular techniques to assist them in the isolation and identification of the pathogen causing banana wilt.
2002
Dr. Georgina Hakiza from the Coffee Research Institute (CORI) in Mukono-Kituza, Uganda visited the lab to learn molecular techniques for the characterization of the coffee wilt pathogen.
