"Doing Our Part to Recycle."
When the time came in 1998 to begin construction of the new Hort & Crop Science greenhouses on the OARDC Campus, this 40' x 100' poly covered greenhouse became expendable. Until that time we had always "borrowed" greenhouse space from other departments, to grow the more than 10,000 annuals that are used around the OARDC campus and residences. With the help of the Facilities Services Dept., we were able to disassemble and transport this greenhouse to an area near our Headquarters. This not only saved a valuable structure, but increased our productivity by consolidating our growing operation into one place. Here, members of both the Grounds Crew and Facilities Services work together to re-assemble the house.
