Models must focus on at least one of the following areas: impairments in the current Clean Water Act 303(d) listing process (suspended and embedded sediments, nutrients, and pathogens), climate change (flow variability and thermal regimes), changes in land-use patterns that affect regional habitats, or the introduction of exotic species. |

| National Science Foundation (NSF) | NSF's Directorate for Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MPS) and the Intelligence Community are coordinating efforts to identify bold new concepts in basic research and workforce development in the MPS disciplines with the potential to contribute to national security. Research areas include but are not limited to the astronomical sciences, chemistry, materials research, mathematical sciences, physics and scientific workforce. Approximately $3.5 million is expected to be available in FY 2003 to 35-50 awards. Only supplements, Small Grants for Exploratory Research (SGERs) and workshop proposals will be considered for funding. |

Soliciting Grant Applications - Adolescent Family Life Research
Grants Program.
The Office of Population Affairs (OPA) requests applications for
grants for applied research addressing Adolescent Family Life (AFL)
program goals related to adolescent sexual relations, pregnancy, and
parenthood: Helping adolescents avoid health risk behaviors; ensuring
that adolescents have the supports necessary to pursue healthy and
productive lives; and strengthening families. Grant awards will be
made to investigate one or more of the following seven areas: (1)
Parent involvement and communication; (2) youth
development/developmental assets; (3) pro-social risk behaviors; (4)
adoption; (5)
adolescent parents; (6) long term impact of adolescent childbearing
on family structure; and (7) influences on adolescent premarital
sexual behavior.

conservancy districts, soil and water conservation districts, and
non-profit organizations located in Franklin County are all eligible to

EPA seeks innovative proposals that demonstrate the reduction of air pollution from heavy-duty diesel engines through the use of EPA verified or certified retrofit technologies, engine replacements and/or cleaner fuels, including ultra low sulfur diesel. Proposals for innovative, high-risk, non-traditional Geospatial
Intelligence concepts, technologies and products with a potential for
high-payoff. Advanced systems, tools and software that demonstrate
significant value-added to the Geospatial Intelligence mission are
requested. Approximately $1 million is
expected to be available for awards ranging from $50,000 to $500,000.
All responsible sources may submit proposals.

| Research Foundation - Office of Funding & Research Development - OSU | Limited Submission Program - NSF Deep Underground Science and Engineering Program Planning and Technical Requirements - Proposals may be submitted by academic organizations in the United States, or by nonprofit, non-academic organizations in the United States, with research and education programs in at least some of the areas of research relevant to an underground laboratory. Collaborations that include all of the relevant research areas are encouraged.
