Making the cover and the back of the MIDSCI's 2012 Quick Shope Guide with pictures of our exceptional strong ubiquitin promoter in soybean!
I am currently a 5-year PhD student in the Finer laboratory working on isolation and characterization of soybean promoters. Specifically, my ongoing research involves extensive functional characterization of GmERF (Glycine max Ethylene Response Factors) genes and their promoters in soybean. This gene family mediates different stress-induced responses in plants and its study will provide novel insights into regulation of gene expression. This will also enable to discover novel soybean inducible promoters with potential application in basic research or the development of improved transgenic crops.
