Please note: William E. Lynch, Jr., as of July 31, 2011, has retired from his position as Program Specialist in Aquatic Ecosystem Management. Ohio State University Extension and the School of Environment and Natural Resources are working to find a specialist in pond management to continue offering the kind of support and information that Bill made available to the citizens of Ohio.
At Ohio State University since 1976, as a student 1976-1982, as a Research Assistant / Associate 1982-1992, then a Senior Research Associate 1993-1999. Joined OSU Extension as an Aquatic Program Specialist, 2000-present.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES To develop and provide extension programming in the area of aquatic ecosystem management and general conservation / natural resource management.
SKILLS/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE Fish management, fish biology, aquatic plant management & control, wetland development & management, aquaculture
CONTRIBUTIOINS TO SENR My greatest satisfaction has come from interacting with and helping Ohio’s private landowners and youth camps achieve their aquatic management goals in such a way as to provide for both wise environmental stewardship and recreational opportunities.
HOBBIES/INTERESTS Died-in-the wool Buckeye fan as well as the Columbus Crew Soccer Team. Involved with Central Ohio Boy Scout Program as Scoutmaster and Merit Badge Counselor for seven nature-oriented merit badges. Co-own and supervise a yellow perch aquaculture farm. Hobbies include fishing, bird-watching, and vegetable gardening. In addition to spending quality time with my wife, Cece, I especially enjoy spending time with my two sons Kevin & Patrick.
