CURRENT RESEARCH: 1. A molecular, biochemical, and ecological comparison of garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata) from native and introduced habitats.  2. Impacts of garlic mustard invasion on the genetic diversity of native species.  3. Specificity in inducible defense responses of wild mustard (Brassica kaber) to herbivore attack.

PAST RESEARCH:  1. Variation in chemical defenses expression in garlic mustard in the field and common garden.

FUTURE RESEARCH: 1. Tests of the evolution of increased competitive ability in garlic mustard, in relation to herbivore and pathogen resistance traits, will continue to be a focus.
