CURRENT RESEARCH:  1. Genetic variation in Abutilon germplasm.  2. Phenology of emergence in annual weeds.  3. Weed seedbanks in agricultural and non-agricultural settings as influenced by soil and plant management.  4. Shifts in weed community composition in organic and conservation tillage systems. 5.  Understanding factors that control seed dormancy in various species including Alliaria petiolata, Abtilon theophrasti, and Senecio vulgaris.

PAST RESEARCH:  1. Methods for detection and mapping garlic mustard habitat distribution.  2. Winter applications of glyphosate for control of garlic mustard.  3. Garlic mustard seed suppression and seed destruction.

FUTURE RESEARCH: 1. Directing plant succession in highly disturbed systems to prevent establishment by invasives. 2. Impact of pre-dispersal seed predators on recruitment of invasives.  3. Genetic changes during the spread of introduced invasives.
