The Work Control Center handles all requests for work (submitted via phone calls or electronically through the LINK) by the departments. Accounts receivable and payable are handled in this office as well as all requisitions for purchases. Requests for telephone service or changes to current service are also handled through this office.

Human Resources and budget tracking for the shops in the department are handled through this office. Billing to departments for the rental of motor vehicles from the pool area handled through this entity.

The group verifies all key requests, issues the keys, and maintains record of where keys have been issued. Approves and maintains record authorizing faculty and staff to operate licensed motor vehicles insured by the University/OARDC.

The mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of 232 vehicles at the Wooster, Columbus, and the Outlying Branches. They maintain a fleet of vehicles for use by OARDC employees for business travel. Motor pool vehicles travel more than 1.6 million miles a year.

The Storeroom and Shipping/Receiving handles all pickup and distribution of mail on campus. This area also receives packages and shipments for departments, assists in shipping packages, and maintains a storeroom that stocks supplies for both the Facilities Services and campus departments.

The custodians are the people who maintain the cleanliness of our buildings on a daily basis. They are also a vital link between the shops and the campus for identifying maintenance problems.

The Barnhart Rice Homestead is a renovated, stone, century home used for small meetings as well as overnight guests.
