ABSTRACT: This is an update on the national and Ohio situation with regard to water quality trading. The Alpine Water Quality Trading program, Ohio's first program, has accomplished its goals in the third year of the 5 year program. It is on-budget with a waiting list of farmers wanting to participate. The lecture will highlight the hurdles we overcame as well as the challenges we are working with as plans are being made to expand the model to other areas such as the Muskingum and Scioto Watersheds.
