Computing Services

Networking Services -- We develop, install and maintain the computer network on the OARDC Wooster campus as well as its connection to the Columbus campus network.  We provide and install the wiring backbone as well as provide and configure the required networking software for all major platforms.

Networking Software/Access -- We assist with the assignment of network user ID's and electronic mail access.  We provide the software necessary for network access and configure it for any OSU staff member or student.

Computer Maintenance and Repair -- We provide computer and printer maintenance and repair facilities for any University owned equipment.  We diagnose problems and repair as well as provide advice and services for upgrades of existing computer equipment.  We assist with arranging warranty repair.

Computer Selection -- We assist with configuration, acquisition and installation of new computing equipment.  This includes printers, scanners, digital cameras, modems, storage devices and other related computer items.  We research options, assist with price quotes, review proposals, and provide advice and orientation when requested.

Software Recommendations -- We consult with users about selecting the appropriate software for their needs.  We have a page set up with a list of common software that we recommend and support.

Web Development -- We provide web directories for users and will help with web development.  We also provide FrontPage training and offer Web Site Workshops on the first Thursday of every month in the Computer Training Lab.  FrontPage tutorials are available online in pdf format.
